I
offer my clients a vast array of psychotherapy approaches. Mine is a
client–centered, non-judgmental approach. I meet the client in the
“place” they’re in and work to empower them as unique individuals. I
acknowledge that we are both human and spiritual beings
interconnected through body, mind and spirit.
Transformation begins when the client sees the spiritual
significance behind painful childhood wounds and experiences.
Your personal “story “ is explored and family-of-origin work can
re-frame pain and hurt as gifts and valuable lessons learned. Under
the layers of our defenses lies your true essence, waiting to be
reclaimed. Connecting to your essence and higher purpose can free
you to walk your path of truth.
I
believe that our bodies speak to us and that physical pain is a
symptom of unresolved emotional issues. Developing awareness in
people of how their physical and emotional selves are connected is
the basis of my body-centered work. I also demonstrate how emotional
healing can alleviate pain.

Voice Dialoguing
We are the product of our own inner dialogue.
Our inner critic can belittle us, reinforce our failures, set
impossible standards of perfection and block us from reaching our
full potential. Conducting a voice-based dialogue with our critic
and other sub-personalities can help us discern which messages,
healthy and unhealthy, we hold on to and rehearse.
Disarming the negative aspects and embracing the positive ones can
transform our lives and ways of thinking.

Inner Child
Work
Our inner child is a very important ego state and an essential part
of our being. This aspect of your personality can carry deep wounds
inflicted by our parents. Our parents did the best they could.
However, we are still left with unhealed emotional hurts. Continuing
the cycle set up by our parents, we treat our inner child the way
our parents treated us.
I
teach the importance of nurturing and protecting the many aspects of
our inner child.
Meet your inner child through guided imagery and “Big-Little” voice
dialoguing. Explore issues of shame, guilt, abandonment, anger, fear
and hurt. By reclaiming the playful, magical, creative, intuitive
spiritual child, you can be inspired to live your dreams as a
well-balanced adult.

Body
Psychotherapy / Chakra work/
Reiki Channeling
For many
people, connecting physical pain with emotional issues and speaking
to your pain speeds up the healing process. That knot in your
stomach or that pain in the neck take on a new meaning as you learn
to be aware of how your body speaks to you. No longer does physical
pain have to control you.
Learn about your seven major energy systems or “chakras” and how
connecting with them enables growth, healing and balance in your
physical, emotional, mental and spiritual states. As a Reiki
channel, I can balance universal life energy, release blocked energy
and reduce stress.

Dark
Night of the Soul and Spiritual Emergency Work
Extremely difficult life transitions can trigger a state of crisis
or what has been called the “dark night of the soul.” Divorce, job
loss, death of a loved one and other major issues can make us feel
hopeless, lost, disconnected, alienated and out of control. As a
spiritual mentor, I listen to my client, validate their experience
and assure them they are not going insane.
A
spiritual emergency can be described as an acute psycho-spiritual
crisis that can take a person into extraordinary states of
consciousness. Each of the following conditions can be viewed as
psychosis in traditional therapy:
-
Visions
-
Frozen, traumatic memories of childhood
-
Chakras being overloaded with energy
-
An upheaval of information from a person’s subconscious
I
work energetically to help ground out and contain the flow of
psychic energy that runs through an affected person’s system.
Experiences like these can happen to any committed spiritual seeker
and the examples given aren’t intended to create apprehension;
rather, they are mentioned to assure all that passage can be made
through them, and that the client will emerge at a higher level of
transformation.

Intuition Development
As an intuitive advisor, I have always known that each of us has the
ability to tap into our personal intuition. It is also referred to
as a sixth sense, gut feeling, inner knowing, psychic ability etc.
I
take a special interest in teaching people how to develop and trust
their intuition because of its substantial life-enhancing
capabilities. Harnessing your inner wisdom can attract more
spontaneity and creativity to your life experience. It also allows
you to tap into your full potential by enabling the making of
decisions from your total being.
This art takes time and practice to develop. The sources of its
lessons come in many forms:
-
Feelings
-
Images
-
Words
-
Physical sensations
-
Synchronicity (finding meaning in coincidences)
Intuition requires risk-taking but it doesn’t have to be scary. It
increases self-trust, self-confidence and will bring you closer to
your true essence.

Relaxation techniques, Stress Management and
Meditation
Stress is clearly becoming the number one cause of illness in our
nation. People are racing through life in the chaos, rarely
stopping to check in with themselves.
I
was a prime example of a type “A” personality, as I made no time for
relaxation and exercise. Unfortunately, I paid a big price for my
unhealthy lifestyle. I developed fibromyalgia (a muscular-skeletal
disorder characterized by widespread pain and
fatigue in the
muscles, ligaments and tendons)
and a sleeping disorder, which took me 10 years to recover from.
Central to my healing process was making myself a top priority in my
life. Part of that mission was learning how to:
-
Breathe properly – from the deepest part of my lungs
-
Follow a nutritious diet
-
Sleep without medication
-
Practice meditation and yoga daily
My focus on my client’s
healthy life style is a key to their healing.

Shadow Work
The phrase
“shadow work” refers to the exploration of the negative aspects of
our personalities. It doesn’t necessarily mean doom and gloom -
there is light at the end of this tunnel. The work
can be unpleasant, but the accompanying pain provides an incentive
to do our emotional work and understand ourselves better.
Our shadow contains all of our disowned, despised, repressed
feelings and traits. It’s about the losses we never grieved, the
anger we never expressed, our addictions, family secrets and
sub-personalities that drive us. Shame is often at the core of such
sentiments.
Whenever we get stuck, lie, run,
hide, obsess, deny, project or try to control, we are in our shadow.
The psychological pioneer, Carl Jung, once said, “One does not
become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the
darkness conscious.” Shadow work is the catalyst for change and
transformation.

Burnout
Have you lost your sense of humor and motivation for your job? Do
you feel inadequate, frustrated, helpless, irritable and/or
depressed? Are you frequently getting or feeling unappreciated at
work? Chances are you are suffering from burnout.
I
offer practical coping strategies and explore career challenges and
options. You may discover you are in the wrong field entirely and
that your strengths and passions lie elsewhere. Discovering
undeveloped talents and unformulated qualities can be exciting and
dramatically improve mood and hopefulness.
Newfound awareness of your uniqueness can launch you into a whole
new life direction and purpose. Doing what you love to do and
getting paid for it is within your grasp.

Bereavement
All of us will experience the loss of a loved one
at some time in our life; we face our inevitable passing as well.
The grieving process and the reality of death can be frightening and
overwhelming. I support people by teaching them to view death and
dying as a natural part of our life cycle and a life passage
undeserving of fear and trepidation.
Serious illness can both awaken and teach us to let go of our fears.
My question to you is, “If you had but one year to live, how would
you live it? This inquiry changed my life and brought a heightened
awareness of the importance of living in the moment and expressing
gratitude each and every day.
An old proverb states: “Some people live as though they will never
die, and some people die as though they have never lived.” Which of
these statements describes you?

Anxiety,
Depression and Low Self-Esteem
Anxiety and depression can run your life and keep you stuck. The
repetitive negative self-talk of fears and doubts will act to
compromise your immunity system and make you ill.
Addressing these difficult issues head on is the best way to move
forward with your life. Challenging your negative self-talk and
replacing downbeat statements with positive affirmations unburdens
the mind, freeing it up for creative and life enhancing reflections.
Did you know that 80% of our thoughts are negative? It’s no wonder
that so many people suffer and struggle.
My behavioral approach can
change your life. I offer concrete and effective means of analyzing
negative thinking patterns and support the development of versatile
coping strategies.

Relationship
Counseling and Child Management
As a counselor who has worked with families and children in the
school system, I can offer sound advice on how you can become more
effective parents. Working together as a two-parent team can be
challenging at best. You can never have too many child management
strategies up your sleeve.
See your child in a positive light and teach them how to think, not
what to think. Choose your battles wisely, and step out of the
nagging role. Explore the way you were raised and reflect on how
your parenting style reflects your personal childhood experiences.
Breaking unhealthy family patterns and healing your own emotional
and spiritual wounds can allow you to become a more loving and
patient parent.
